Une fille comme moi
Je t'aime plus que hier, moins que demain ♥
Welcome to the blog of a 17yearoldgirl, where she posts her mindless musings and ramifications.
This is extremely private;
cos this is where she dreams, sleeps and cries.
She lives.
"We can catch buses and count our change and cross the roads and talk real sentences.
but our innocence goes awfully deep,
and our discreditable secret is that we don’t know anything at all,
and our horrid inner secret is that
we don’t care that we don’t."
My Current Obsession: Lomography, Mooncakes and Cute Diaries

Obsession 1: LOMOGRAPHY!
Ok, lomography is just a commercial trademark of Lomographische AG, for products and services related to photography. But what makes them so special from the rest is that they emphathize casual snapshop photography, the "don't think, just shoot" idea. Lomo produced a lot of cameras that can give very interesting artistic effects such as distortion, multiple exposures, long exposures, vignette effect and saturated colours.
Popular Lomo cams include: Diana range, Holga range, Lomo LC-A, vivitar, Polga etc.

My favourites:
1. Diana+/Diana F+/Diana Dreamer (uses 120 film in medium format)

The Diana was created in Hong Kong in the 60's, back then it was made entirely of plastic (and very cheap too!). The Diana is famous for its soft & dreamy images, super-saturated colors, unpredictable blurring, and random contrast. Shown above in the pic is Diana+. Diana F+ comes with a big flashbulb, while Diana Dreamer is about the same but with a better ability to take long exposures and comes in an even prettier plastic body.

Description of Diana+ from Lomo website: Features include 2 shutter speeds: one for day and one for night; the ability to shoot multiple or partial (overlapping) exposures; two image sizes for 12 square shots or 16 square shots on a roll of film; new Pinhole function: remove the lens, set the aperture to a super-small pinhole and shoot a super-wide-angle, severely old-school image through a tiny hole; new endless panorama function: shoot a long, concurrent, and unlimited panoramic image, with almost no space between each individual frame.
2. The Holga 135/Holga 135BC (uses 35mm film)

Holga 135BC can shoot unlimited multiple exposures (Layman: overlapping of different photos) on the same frame. If you wanna see the pros work with their Holgas, go here: http://community.livejournal.com/filmsg/152039.html#cutid1

There's also the famous Fisheye cams, which will distort images into a circular shape and curve straight lines to focus on the object in the middle. But I'm not really a big fan of that...you can google it if you want to (:

I.WANT.A.DIANA+.CAM.SO.BADLY. I think it costs around S$100 :/

Obsession 2: Mooncakes! (esp snowskin ones) I went shopping for mooncakes with my mom at Jurong Past on Wed and we bought two boxes of mooncakes, a box of snowskin mooncakes from Bakerzin and a box of unconventional 莲蓉蛋黄核桃酥 mooncakes.
This is the packing of the Bakerzin box. The colours used are pretty cool and modern, the design of the box is minimal and sleek. No more red or pretty girls dressed in cheong sums. I guess with a breakthrough in traditional mooncakes flavours, you won't ever find tradition mooncake packaging too.

Open it up and you'll find Eight Mini Snowskin Mooncakes. 4 Flavours. $38.90. Flavous include Yam, Sweet Potato, Green tea Macha with Red Bean and Orange. They also had a "champagne" range, where there will be a wine truffle wrapped in chocolate in the middle of each mooncake. That will cost you $44.95.

I find the flavours of the Bakerzin mooncakes quite innovative, and not too sweet. It is nice to have some red beans inside the macha green tea mooncake and the flavouring of the yam mooncake is very original and yummy. The orange mooncake, on the other hand, besides coloring and flavouring, it also has a strong zesty orange. Maybe it's because of the real orange peel rinds inside the mooncake. The sweet potato one is just right (:

This is the packaging of the "unconventional" mooncake. Very ordinary packaging though, with some hint of traditional labels on it. Open it up and you'll find these cute looking mooncakes. They look like little sandcastles, with "seashells" stuck to their sides. I find the mooncake quite tasty, because of its crispy exterior layer. The "eggyolk" inside the mooncake is quite small and the lotus paste is your usual taste. One thing I don't like is that it's slightly too oily, you can taste the lard inside if you eat a whole mooncake. I guess that's the difference between a box of mooncakes costing $38.90 and another box costing $25.00.

Obsession 3: Cute Diaries!
这就是为什么韩国产的日记卖得那么贵。在新加坡网站上买$24。不过日记中的图片非常可爱,像一本儿童书,颜色也很鲜艳美丽。我希望今年去越南的时候可以找到这样的日记或者记事本。
