Above: christmas shopping in MumbaiChristmas is always a jolly and merry season because people know that they have a legitimate reason to spend money (: That is also why more people go broke during Christmas. This is a guide to introduce beginers to the world of online shopping, which will not only save you a lot of money during Christmas but also provide you with more gift choices.
[This blog post is an entry to Candypulp's Chirstmas Giveaway Competition]
I personally love online shopping, ever since melly introduced it to me last year, because:
1) You save money!
You can save money buying both brand new clothes of reputable brands and also buying preloved/almostbrandnew clothes from other people online.
For example, clothes purchased from FOREVER21 online will usually cost a lot cheaper than the clothes that you find in retail stores. Most of the time, I go down to the local forever21 stores to find and try on clothes that I like and then purchase them online via sprees at lj spree communities: spreesgalore, _spreee, sgspree, spreehouse etc
You can also purchase preloved clothes from other people online at sgselltrade. Most of the clothes posted online at sgselltrade are either completely brand new or was only worn 1-2 times and still kept in mint condition.
There are also numerous blogshops set up on lj selling VERY fashionable apparel at a lower prices than stores. These ljshops normally update frequently and bring their customers the latest fashion trends and sometimes even exact replicas of branded clothing at a fraction of the original price.
Some ljshops to take note of: nellyjoy, scarletroom and bonitochico - sells fashionable apparel. Their clothes are very popular and are always snapped up at soon as a new collection is launched.
Candypulp - sells apparel, accessories and cute novelty lifestyle products that everyone enjoy. I particularly like their collection from Cheap Monday and also the wide variety of bangles, bag charms and delectable mini food ear studs.
2) There is a greater variety of clothes and products online.
Firstly, you can get your hands on a lot of clothes from brands that are not common/not available in Singapore. Eg: Charlotte Russe, ASOS, Old Navy, Hollister, Aeropostale, American Apparel, Abercombie & Fitch and the highly creative graphic tee brand: Threadless. As for the brands that are found in Singapore, you normally can find a greater variety of clothes online as compared to retail stores.,
Besides clothes, you can spree for taiwanese/japanese/korean cosmetics, Lomography cameras, shoes, bags, Korean accessories and stationery, books, health and grooming products and pretty much everything else you can think of.
3) It's so convenient!
In order to shop online, you simply need to browse, select, click and pay, all done in the comfort of your own home. The items will then be delievered via post to your doorstep. You don't even need to waste your time to standing and waiting for the fitting rooms, you can simply purchase clothes according to your body measurements.
Don't worry about being scammed, because most of the spree organizers and users selling clothes on lj are registered with a feedback link so that users with more than 5 -ve feedback are banned from the community (:
And that, is why I love online shopping. It is fast, easy, cheap and convenient --- everything that you want in a shopping experience. A bit of warning though, it can get addictive and turn you into a shopaholic :D
