Welcome to the blog of a 17yearoldgirl, where she posts her mindless musings and ramifications.
This is extremely private;
cos this is where she dreams, sleeps and cries.
She lives.

A SMILE A DAY #2

Currently, I'm obsessed with teru teru bozus after I came across them on poupee, my loveable avatar dressup site :D
Anyway, teru teru bozu, also know as 晴天娃娃 in chinese, is a doll that are commonly made in Japan by children during the rainy season to pray for sunshine and scare away the rain :D

They are absolutely adorable and very very easy to make. I only take around 4 mins to make one teru teru bozu.

Here are ones that I made for the choiristers going Graz very very soon (less than 10 days). I hope they will do choir proud and cinch the gold awards! :D

If you're interested in making your own teru teru bozus, here are some useful links:

Have fun making teru teru bozus!

What's wrong with us?
Thursday, June 26, 2008, 7:41 PM
早报爆米花版 featured Celebrity Bloggers on one of their columns. They were: Mr Brown, Xiaxue and Dawn Yan respectively. I went to on of the blogger's blogs(xiaxue's one) and discovered what attracted so many hits to the blog was merely the usual crap D: Which is to say: beauty, bitching, shopping, random thoughts(not to mention narcissist ones) et cetera. I was very disappointed that 《爆米花》chose to feature such people in their columns. I understand that it was an interview on celebrity bloggers and the trend of them, but I think it is completely unecessary to divert our attention to such blog content. The blog that they previously featured quite a long time ago, thisisnaive.com, is so much better than all of those so-called celebrity bloggers out there. You should go and see thisisnaive, it always make me feel so peaceful and happy (:

I don't understand why people like to delve into other people's lives so much and why they like girls that swear and say the f word at least once in a hour. I mean, look at Tila Tequila, the bisexual girl that got famous because of her trashy pin-up pictures on MySpace and who now has an equally disgusting bisexual reality series into its 2nd season already, in which she kisses both guys and girls and walks around skimpily in a little dress that barely covers her butt. And then look at Paris Hilton, a socialite that loves to throw away her money on parties and owns a sex tape. Why do people like to read so much about them? Is it because they're so sick of their own boring dramaless life? Is it because they like to gossip about the shameless details of someone else's life?

To put it in a quote by Mr. Al Gore(my green hero!) "The planet is in distress and all of the attention is on Paris Hilton. We have to ask ourselves what is going on here."
Oh not to mention Ellen DeGeneres on Paris's comment that she herself is dumb: "She's not getting anywhere doing that. If that really is an act, if she really was playing dumb, then what does that say about our society that we're celebrating someone who was successful because they're not smart?"

Anyway, I thought that Xiaxue looked fake. I'm not jealous of her(=.=) and I won't ever be, but seriously, most of her body parts are not natural. She dyed her hair a weird straw blonde colour, tanned her skin until her skin looked weird in contrast with her light blonde hair, wears fake eyelashes everyday(till they look like little black shutters that go "poof poof" when she blink), put crystals on her nails till they looked like claws and wears lowcutting dresses and takes pictures of herself acting cute and then post it with a caption "I'm so chio" or words with similar meaning on her blog. I'm not saying that I hate her, I never hate people anymore, I merely dislike them. Anyway, I just think that she's too commercialised and superficial. I do not think making money through online blogging is a bad idea, particularly if you have many readers, but I do not appreciate the way she acts and the way she puts herself across. It's all too fake to me and reminds me of Pink's song "Stupid Girls".

Hello, people? It's time to wake up.

I'm back from Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Two posts in one day!
After discovering that a lot of my friends had the same blogskin as me, I was determined to change it! hahahah.
So now you can see three different polaroid framed pictures. All very symbolic of me, I guess.
I couldn't understand why the last polaroid got cropped off. It's not supposed to be, it's supposed to be like the other two, I resized the last polaroid already and checked that it was the way it was supposed to be in photobucket but apparently it just turned into that weird cropped thing once I put my link onto blogger.

I'm proud of my work (:
and I love love love the new online flash image editing website that I found. It's amazing. It even have brillant effects for Holga and Lomo cams! And it has a lot of other functions as well. I had to edit each of the three pics individually then piece them together into a banner on paint.

And to the hell with my dad. He's been so damn irritating these days. There's only one apt adjective for him now: ASSHOLE.
After discovering that I some chocolate and ice-cream that me and my mum bought, he said: "Eat eat eat! You might as well eat the whole can! Later go with me and your mum to buy more chocolates and ice-cream for you to stuff your face with, ok?"
STUPID PERSON. I HOPE HIS MOUTH ROTS. He can't even keep his stupid pathetic job, he has no right to order me around to do all the housework chores.

SCREW HIM. humph.

*kisses my new blogskin*

i like to eat
, 11:05 AM
I like to eat.
I eat to make myself feel fuller, to make myself seem real.
I eat to make myself feel,
only niceties of the world.
I eat to drown out the bad feelings,
that are present in all beings,
maybe if I eat so much, they'll just go away.

I like to eat.
I like eating junk food, chocolates maybe,
to taste the rich cocoa running on my lips.
Or maybe potato chips, just to hear them crunch.
Fill up my tummy so I can miss lunch.

I like to eat.
Eating makes me alive.
It makes me happy to think,
that I can still enjoy glorious delicious food.
Unlike some children, in Darfur
or Somalia. They starve because they've got nothing.
It's a sad feeling
to know that people starve themselves to be thin.

I like to eat.
Even though it makes me fatter.
But eating makes me happy, so it doesn't matter.
Chocolates especially, they contain chemicals
to stop you from crying.
Eat some chocs at night,
and then you'll feel all right.
Even if your parents are nagging at you 24-7.
Even if you think your dad is useless.
Even if you broke up with your boyfriend.
Even if you feel devastated.

Eating will make you full,
make you round,
make you happy,
make you numb.

I like to eat.

(All comments welcome on this post. Please don't think I'm emo. I'M NOT.)

微微的小花

A SMILE A DAY #1

微微的小花应该就是指的是这个:
小苗子今天终于开了第一朵花,很小,不过仍然漂亮夺目。

After planting numerous seeds and getting two big shoots growing, one of them finally flowered! Now I'm hoping for the other one to flower too. Actually I didn't expect it to flower at this stage, because the shoots are still growing, they're quite small as well.
The flower's so small, like it might just break away and float off with the wind...

I'm so proud of my house's balcony garden now...yesterday two very small hummingbird like little birds visited the garden, and the day before yesterday, there were a very cute pretty butterfly (:
We should buy some orchid plants sometime, I love flowering plants.

对白
Thursday, June 05, 2008, 9:15 PM

1 day Desaru trip (:
Tuesday, June 03, 2008, 8:35 PM
The day of the trip was actually last saturday and I had to wake up at 5am and go to the designated area for the coach to pick us up and then go the Desaru. After arriving there, we went to one of the areas in Desaru to have our breakfast. I ate plain roti pratas and a few pieces of bubblegum for breakfast. I had to eat bubblegum because who knows when I can get the chance to go overseas and eat them again?

There was nothing much in the morning, after our lunch(the only course that was nice was the one with the fried mini lobster), we walked around our dining area to visit some of the small shops in the small town (:
They were baking 老婆饼,老公饼 and 豆沙饼 in the bakery of that small town. First time I tasted those fresh from the oven, and they were piping hot and crisp, instead of the limp texture that you find from the ones kept in a plastic container in the supermarket. They have many roadside fruit stalls too, here's a pic from one of the fruits stalls.
Guess these fruits shown below:

You guessed: Papayas
The answer: Mangoes
Yup these mangoes were practically the size of papayas and some of them were perhaps even larger. They were going for 9RM each, but my mum didn't buy one for me. But looking at them all lined up here, you can't help thinking about the juicy yellow flesh hidden under that cool green exterior.

Next up, we got to go the the OSTRICH FARM! It's the largest in Desaru and maybe one of the largest in Malaysia. There were ostrichs everywhere, in pens, walking about freely all over the place and eating their food, which comprised of wild veggies and crushed corn. I got to see a baby ostrich that was only one day old, as well as some many other baby ones that were a few weeks old.
Feeding the ostrichs were the most fun part, because at first I was pretty scared of those ostrichs crowding around me with their long long necks stretched out for a bit of the corn in my basket. And their eyes are so big and they're much bigger and taller than me >.<

Having seen the ostrichs up close and having stroked their long necks, we went out of the ostrich farm to have a taste of the ostrichs. It's roast ostrich satay time and my family bought 3 sticks of ostrich satay to eat.

Ostrich meat basically tastes like normal chicken meat, just that it's more tender and chewy, not as dead and limp like the chicken meat. Perhaps it's because the ostrichs had more place to run about in the farm...The satay was roasted just right and it tastes quite delicious paired with the curry peanut sauce.

After visiting the ostrich farm, we proceeded to the desaru fruits farm, where many different kinds of fruits were found. According to the workers harvesting the fruits, the fruits there are all totally organic because they did not use any kind of pesticide at all.
They had rambutans, lycees, durians, water apples(shui weng), mangoes, breadfruits and many many other types of fruit trees growing in that big piece of farmland. I was surprised to see that the baby durians actually look pretty cute hanging on those trees like little keychains xD

The last event of the day was FIREFLY VIEWING! We went to another small town and sat a boat to go into the swamp areas to see the fireflies. Along the way, we saw many small huts along the rivers as well, where Malay men fish under the pale light of the huts. But the fireflies can only be found deep inside the swamp area, where there were no light or human disturbances. I wish I could capture a picture of the fireflies but they cannot be captured on cameras at all. Basically, we can see lots and lots of light twinkling on the low trees of the swamp, and they looked like christmas tree lights. They were really beautiful and cute from the boat that we were on and the water's reflection make them appear even brighter. There were basically quite a lot of fireflies all along of the swamp area. They were like little lights draped on the trees. My tour guide said that that place has now became like one of the wonders of the world, because of the large number of fireflies residing there.

Sigh, humans are ironic and self-contradictory beings. We love the exploit and destroy the habitats of so many species of animals just for our own needs but yet we like to pay money to crowd onto a small boat or go to so called "backward" countries like Africa to see the animals that were made endangered and rare by us. Sometimes i cannot understand the things that we do and being just a girl of 16, I can't do much about it much except to seat back and laugh at everyone, me included.

But I went home dead beat but happy to see so many fireflies :D

My handwriting analysis
Monday, June 02, 2008, 10:07 PM
Wang gave me the webbie link for the handwriting analysis and I tried it. Here are the results!

Sitong uses judgment to make decisions. She is ruled by her head, not her heart. She is a cool, collected person who is usually unexpressive emotionally. Some may see her as unemotional. She does have emotions but has no need to express them. She is withdrawn into herself and enjoys being alone.

The circumstances when Sitong does express emotions include: extreme anger, extreme passion, and tremendous stress. If someone gets her mad enough to tell her off, she will not be sorry about it later. She puts a mark in her mind when someone angers her. She keeps track of these marks and when she hits that last mark she will let them know they have gone too far. (Actually this is not very true. Most of the time I forget the conflicts I have with people very quickly. I'm like my mum) She is ruled somewhat by self-interest. All her conclusions are made without outside emotional influence. She is very level-headed and will remain calm in an emergency situation. In a situation where other people might get hysterical, she has poise. (Hrm interesting, I didn't know I had such great abilities).

Sitong will work more efficiently if given space and time to be alone. She would rather not be surrounded by people constantly. In a relationship, she will show her love by the things she does rather than by the things she says. Saying "I love you" is not a needed routine because she feels her mate should already know. The only exception to this is if she has logically concluded that it is best for her mate to hear her express her love verbally.
Sitong is not subject to emotional appeals. If someone is selling a product to her, they will need to present only the facts. They should present them from a standpoint of her sound judgment. She will not be taken in by an emotional story about someone else. She will meet emergencies without getting hysterical and she will always ask "Is this best for me?"

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Sitong doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

Sitong is talkative. She enjoys talking and socializing. She may talk when there is absolutely nothing important to say. She enjoys speaking. (This only depends on the occasion. Sometimes I speak up only when I need to.)

In reference to Sitong's mental abilities, she has a very investigating and creating mind. She investigates projects rapidly because she is curious about many things. She gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but she soon must slow down and look at all the angles. She probably gets too many things going at once. (Damn right) When Sitong slows down, then she becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, she must slow down to do it. She then decides what projects she has time to finish. Thus she finishes at a slower pace than when she started the project.

She has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. Her mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. She can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Sitong can then switch into her low gear. When she is in the slower mode, she can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. She is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Sitong's true self-image is unreasonably low. Someone once told Sitong that she wasn't a great and beautiful person, and she believed them. (I'm not as pathetic as it's described here you know...I won't believe idiots that say I'm ugly. Blerh.) Sitong also has a fear that she might fail if she takes large risks. Therefore she resists setting her goals too high, risking failure. She doesn't have the internal confidence that frees her to take risks and chance failure. Sitong is capable of accomplishing much more than she is presently achieving. All this relates to her self-esteem. Sitong's self-concept is artificially low. Sitong will stay in a bad situation much too long... why? Because she is afraid that if she makes a change, it might get worse. It is hard for Sitong to plan too far into the future. She kind of takes things on a day to day basis. She may tell you her dreams but she is living in today, with a fear of making a change. No matter how loud she speaks, look at her actions. This is perhaps the biggest single barrier to happiness people not believing in and loving themselves. Sitong is an example of someone living with a low self-image, because their innate self-confidence was broken. (This is actually quite true...especially about taking things on a day to day basis thing. When you ask me what goals I have, I'll say I dunno, cos i never really wanted to think about it. Thinking about these things make my head hurt. So i just focus on getting things done well daily.)

Sitong is sarcastic. This is a defense mechanism designed to protect her ego when she feels hurt. She pokes people harder than she gets poked. These sarcastic remarks can be very funny. They can also be harsh, bitter, and caustic at the same time.

Sitong is very self-sufficient. She is trying not to need anyone. She is capable of making it on her own. She probably wants and enjoys people, but she doesn't "need" them. She can be a loner.
Actually I saw this "y" character and copied it from someone else's handwriting when i was in P6, cos i thought that this "y" is very nice and clean. Very pretty. So I forced myself to write my "y"s this way, instead of my original way of writing with the loop on the tail and I've been keeping it this way ever since.
This is test actually quite true, i didn't know your personal handwriting has so much relation to do with personality...if you wanna try it go here: http://www.handwritingwizard.com/
Actually I've learn some things about myself that I normally don't think about, especially about the low self-esteem part. I've never been really confident in myself, although i can't really explain it but I'm def not as pathetic as it was described above. I still have that ounce to confidence to know not to listen to stupid people who flame me for their own personal gains. And I do agree that sometimes I don't need people to be constantly around me. i enjoy my own free time sometimes at home when no one is around, then i can do whatever stupid things i like. But i do appreciate my friends, in fact sometimes i value them more than my family, considering that my family only consists my parents and me. Not to mention that my parents are yelling at each other almost everyday again. Oh well, it happens at least 3 times per year.
抱抱。
[End}。
